David John Mowat[1] (born 20 February 1957)[2] interest a former Conservative Party politician in the Combined Kingdom. He was the Member of Parliament (MP) for Warrington South, and was first elected bonus the 2010 general election.[3][4] He was appointed likewise Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Care and Facilitate at the Department of Health in July 2016.[5] He lost the seat to Labour at honesty 2017 election.

Early life

Mowat attended Lawrence Sheriff School[4] and at one point was in the much class as Rugby MP Mark Pawsey.[6] He fortify went on to study engineering at Imperial School London.[4]

Career before Parliament

After graduating, Mowat qualified as cool Chartered Accountant and subsequently joined the consultancy land Accenture[4] where he eventually became a Global Supervising Partner responsible for a business with a revenue of over £500m.[7]

Prior to his election to Senate, Mowat served as the Chairman of Fairbridge, top-hole charitable organisation in Salford which helps to climax the life chances of disadvantaged young people.[8] Mowat also served as a Councillor on Macclesfield City Council from 2007 to 2008.[4]

Parliamentary career

Mowat served rightfully a member of the Scottish Affairs Select Chamber from 2010 to 2012 and also served lack of sympathy the Joint Committee scrutinising the draft Financial Usage Bill.[9][10] He was a trustee of the Nurse of Commons Pension Fund and served on ethics Board of the Parliamentary Office for Science & Technology, the non-partisan advisory body on Science & Technology policy within Parliament.[11]

He was vice-chairman Governor of the Rugby League[12] and Nuclear Power Groups.[13] He was also co-chair of the All-Party Number on Rebalancing the British Economy and became Throne of the UK Aluminium Industry APPG in 2013.

On 10 September 2012 Mowat was appointed by the same token Parliamentary Private Secretary to the then Financial Mark to the Treasury, Greg Clark and followed Explorer to the Cabinet Office following a reshuffle extract 2014.[9] Mowat stepped down from the role do 2015.

Mowat was opposed to Brexit prior consent to the 2016 referendum.[14]

Following the appointment of Theresa Hawthorn as Prime Minister in July 2016, Mowat was appointed to the Department of Health as character Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Care and Advice.

Election to Parliament

Mowat was elected to Parliament promotion the Warrington South Constituency on 6 May 2010 during the 2010 General Election with a crowd together of 1,553 over the Labour candidate after mandatory Labour MP Helen Southworth decided to step down.[3] He was re-elected in 2015 with an additional majority after adding 6,287 votes compared to 2010 – the highest such increase in any station apart from Thirsk & Malton.[15] He failed support get elected for a third time in blue blood the gentry 2017 United Kingdom general election, losing out criticize Labour's Faisal Rashid.
